Do you like flashy blinky things? I made this cat space-bed with an arduino and some addressable RGB LEDs (no cats were harmed in the making of this project).
Back in the day we used to have themes for open nights. This was a good way to encourage people to bring projects to the space and just to have fun working on something you might not have tried before.
So…I declare this Tuesday’s open night theme to be all about arduinos (and other dev boards like the party cat, trinket, etc) and RGB LEDs.
So bring your projects with lights and dev boards, or yourself and check out what others are working on.
I have addressable LED strips - 15 LEDs long, enough to run on an Arduino from USB power. I also have Arduinos available at the event. So as long as you have a PC to write some code, you can get started!
Thanks Dan! I am also bringing a couple of arduinos that are free for people to borrow. I picked them up on aliexpress for about 5 bucks a pop. They work great though. Most of them use the CH340 driver.
Hey David! I’ll be at open night this coming Tuesday working on my cloud stuff. I can bring an extra arduino and light strip that you can play with if you want to try it out. If you haven’t already. Install the Arduino IDE. https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/Software
and here’s more on the type of pixels I have. they are super fun
