@Rob_MacKenzie Rob. Are you still up for ta’ing the Python intro class with me? We need to pick a day of the week and a start date. How about Mondays, starting October 19?
Also, does the space have any spare displays, keyboards, and mice in case people want to come with just a raspberry Pi?
I mean’t October 17 (Monday) not 19.
Here’s my first attempt at a poster. Feedback welcome. I’ll aim to cover marketing costs (colour printing) and my VHS membership fees and the rest can go to VHS depending on how many people show up Python Course_Poster DRAFT.pdf (503.0 KB)
Poster looks great to me, though I didn’t proof it very carefully (date checking, etc.) and I have no idea what the QR code contains.
Don’t forget to replace that (insert temp email here) bit!
I should put the VHS logo on it. Is there a high def version somewhere for this kind of use?
Hi @Janet I’m thinking about charging $5 for VHS members. I only plan to cover my membership costs for the duration of the course. Are you still interested in coming? If I don’t get up to $60 I might need someone with a key to let me in!
We use the VHS logo from the tapes. There are vector images on Wikipedia I believe. Highest you can get!!!
The space has lots
Monday’s work for me!
Poster looks too professional! I would assume it was a very official course! Putting the VHS logo should bring it down to our level.
I’d suggest compressing the course a bit. Some of those topics aren’t necessarily 1-2 hour topics, unless you have projects to work on each class. Would you be up for a meet up to discuss the class?
Yes, definitely. Let’s meet up. How do we exchange email/phone info?
I’m in!
I’m also in. Monday’s would be great.
I am also planning to attend

Mondays are perfect for me, as well.
Rob, what do you mean by ‘from the tapes’? I couldn’t find the logo on the VHS wiki - can someone point me to it?
He means quite literally the VHS tape logo. Specifically this one:
vhs_logo.pdf (241.2 KB)
Here are the versions I have.
VHS Logos.zip (216.3 KB)
I am also interested and monday’s sound perfect. It seems you have several keyholders who will be attending and happy to bottom line this event. (myself included)
Been putting off learning python for a while so this will be a great excuse to get back into programming.
Thanks, Luke
Since last posting a thumbs up on this, I started learning Python on my own. I’m still interested but I worry this pace may be too slow for me. Is this one class a week?
