Instructables Makerspace contest

Ok, I’ve published an instructable and I’ve sent an email to the Instructable folks about the contest. I specified the group name as ‘Vancouver Hackspace Society (VHS)’. I’ll let you know when I hear back with more details. In the meantime, let’s get this sucker featured:

@Gibbtall There’s currently a fandom contest that you can enter at the same time (as I did). Perfect timing for a gem instructable!!

And after only 25 views and 7 likes, it’s featured.

It’s that easy folks!!

By the way, having something featured also gets you a three month Instructables Pro membership

Turns out they have a soldering theme contest running so I entered that. Guess it takes a day or so to get accepted…

@ninetynein - Can you add me to the Instructable group you created for the contest?

Will do. I see that we’re still not included in their list of maker spaces. I sent another email to them last night, so I’ll let you know when I hear back.

In the meantime, go to http://www.instructables.com/community/Makerspace-Contest/

and send CarelyY a PM with a link to your instructable, and a note that you wanted included in the list for Vancouver Hackspace Society (VHS).

That should do it!

Thanks @packetbob!

Done…

Ok, so it turns out that we have to add all our instructables to a Collection. I’ve created one called Vancouver Hackspace. However, we need 5 instructables in the collection before we can publish it. I think since I created the Collection, I have to be the one to add instructables and publish. @packetbob I’ve added yours (for a total of 2)

Has anyone else done any instructables lately?

Assuming it’s OK with @SteveRoy you could add the Prusa build:

Cool. Added it!

Now we just need @funvill to add the fairy doors and some other good stuff and we’ll be able to at least enter the contest.

how about this one from Mistklr:

That one was published too long ago unfortunately.

Ok, new process, reply on here with a link to your instructable, and I’ll add it to the Vancouver Hackspace collection.

Thanks,

And we’re back down to two instructables. Unfortunately the Prusa was done too long ago. They must have been submitted since June 1st.

I should be able to bang off another one (for my isVHSopenGauge project) before the contest closes on Aug 31st…
Hopefully a few others will manage to get a few done by then also…
It will be nice to have our own section…
