Only one more week to submit to the Hot One Inch Action, Art show. Several VHSers have submitted and have been accepted for this art show over the years.
Low barrier to entry, easy to do in a afternoon, and a lot of fun.

Summarize, for those of us who are not going to click that link at work?
Its SFW
You design a button that is 1 inch diameter and fits in their template. Then send it to them. They select 50 of the best buttons, and make 50 copies. Then people at the art show can buy 5 random buttons for $5. Then trade them with other people to get the buttons that they want. You as the artiest gets ~25 of your own buttons that you can use to trad with other people to get different buttons. When someone comes in and floods the market you will find that some buttons become more valuable then other buttons, its a fun market style art show.
From the website
Conceived by Jim Hoehnle and Chris Bentzen in 2004, Hot One Inch Action is the original, one-night only show of button art and social interaction from Vancouver, BC, with the tiny art of fifty different artists reproduced on one inch buttons. These limited edition buttons are displayed on the gallery wall and the audience is offered the opportunity to buy randomly selected buttons in mixed bags of five for $5. Didn’t get the button you want? Trade with the people around you… how bad do you want that button?! That’s when the hot action starts. On November 9, 2013 we celebrated our tenth anniversary in Vancouver!
In addition to our annual Vancouver show, we’ve also hosted the show in Seattle, Portland, Calgary, Reno and NYC. Hot One Inch Action has received artist submissions from Canada, USA, France, Spain, UK, Hong Kong and Turkey.
It all sounds cool except the horrible, horrible personal interaction component. Can someone not make a button purchasing / trading app so I can participate from home?
Lol. I never go to the trade part. Too many people. If you are accepted
they will mail your buttons to you. You don’t have to attend.
