Hey guys, I used to was a member even though it’s been a while… I enjoyed being a part of community and miss friendly atmosphere… Hope everyone is doing all right due to Covid-19.
I came back here to share my story. Canada is my home but Ukraine is a motherland. If you follow the news lately you might also think what’s happening there now is wrong. So I just want to give it a shot in case you able to donate or spread the word. If you can participate in any way it would be great.
Would there be interest in doing some charity auction where proceeds go to the red cross? Make something - put it up for auction for members to bid on?
We felt it was urgent so my partner and I donated directly to the Red Cross Ukranian Relief yesterday. But totally support any other efforts to raise money for Ukraine in the longer term.
My wife and I have also donated to the Red Cross already. I have spent a month living in Kyiv and even got up close to reactor 4 in Pripyat. The company i work for has our software development teams and support teams in based in Kyiv. These are colleagues I speak to daily as part of my working day. This crisis touches very close to home. So you bet i’ll be working on something to donate out to a good cause.
Thanks a lot! Yeah we have a lot of outsource software companies there like Epam, Global Logic etc. Even with wfh option not sure if that’s even possible there right now…
