He Bike Kitchen bicycle art auction

From the VHS-PR contact form on our website:

I hope the VHS is doing great! To jog your memory, I used to be the GM of the Vancouver Tool Library, and we co-coordinated some workshops at your space back in 2013. I’ve since returned to full-time bike-wrenching, and my current shop, The Bike Kitchen, is hosting a bicycle art auction in November I wanted to tell your members about!

In short, the event is going to be really fun and weird, and all of the proceeds go to two programs that we co-run with OCB and Kickstand - Bici Libre, in which we provide bikes, accessories, and repairs to temporary agricultural workers from Mexico and Guatemala, and Pedals for the People, in which we provide bikes, accessories, and repairs to anyone needing affordable transportation - mostly DTES residents.

I’m writing to ask if 1) you’d help us promote this event via your social media accounts and email listservs, and 2) if you would be willing to ask your members to make or donate art pieces for this event. All of the information is in the links above, or folks can email me directly at lauren.warbeck@gmail.com, or via phone at 604-354-6931.

I’d really love to get some of the amazing work of VHS members into this event - I remember being totally stunned on my first visit to the VHS and all the fascinating projects people were working on.

Hope to hear from you soon! FYI, I’m reaching out via your FB page too.

Lauren
