Gearify Software Summer Sale (Ended July 18th)

Gearify is a software for generating and exporting non-standard gear geometry. A normal license is $40USD, currently on sale for $20USD.

There is a demo version that lets you play around with it but cripples the export function.

This is well suited for making more decorative style gears for cutting out on the laser or with a CNC router.

I’ve played around with the demo a bit, but obviously wasn’t able to actually make anything based on the design. I wasn’t able to find anything else out there to accomplish the same purpose (and I believe that author of the software was in the same boat and that was part of the reason they designed and then “commercialized” it.)

Would love to find/create an open source version, but that’s a different topic…

Heck, I’m buying this! At the very least will make for a good laser cutter training project

It’s Windows-only, but seems to work fine on my Mac using Wine.

Thanks! This might’ve been exactly what I needed recently for making a sprocket with a custom tooth profile. Ah well! Picked it up for next time.

For those interested in gears, the other gear generators that I use/have paid for are Gearotic (http://www.gear2motion.com/) and Gear Template Generator (Gear template generator program).

How was your experience with Gearotic? It seems pretty comprehensive (and hopefully it would be for $120 USD)

I also came across this: GitHub - phillbaker/non-circular-gears-generator: Python generator for non-circular gears DXF. when I did some more looking yesterday.
