Friend requests opinion on OpenSource PBX: H/W & S/W

Hi,

A friend & mentor requests opinion on VoIP solutions, preferably such as OpenSource PBX: H/W & S/W.

(1) He knows (heard or searched) and come up with OpenPBX GUI (https://www.freepbx.org/) for managing
Asterisk (https://www.asterisk.org/) S/W

(2) Vendors you have used such as CISCO,
https://www.sangoma.com/ or others on OpenPBX and Asterisk websites.

(3) Better or other suggestions?

Thanks a ton!
Best,
RK

That would depend on the situation, but for a small business with VoIP phones, FreePBX works just fine. At the bunker (the previous VHS location), we had a setup with a VoIP provider, FreePBX, and multiple VoIP phones through the space (that all rang when there was a call).

For PotS, you can get Digium FXO cards if you need to hook up land lines, and FreePBX even supports IVR applications.

As @TyIsI mentioned FreePBX

I follow a YouTube channel “Crosstalk Solutions” he has a good series on FreePBX - though there is a newer version since this series the basics are the same

Thank you!

I use VoIP.ms, let them manage the hardware for you.

Thank you @SteveRoy & @TomKeddie!

He is a retired engineer, he has to do it the HARD way, build it himself and understand every nook & cranny of VOIP!
