I assume I’m not the only one intending to get the miscellaneous parts from the space? I’d like to pick some out this Tuesday night and it makes sense to offer to pick out multiple sets so each person doesn’t have to rifle through the bins x amount of times. There are 9 people on board?
I’ll be at VHS tomorrow Tuesday, but I don’t know the time yet.
My ETA is 8ish, probably later. I’ve got pegboard to drop off whether or not it’s needed!
There are 7 sets of parts in white wax paper bags labeled ‘embedded systems parts’ in black marker, in a tupperware tray that should go back into the craft table when empty. The tray is on the top corner of the black plastic shelf in the components area.
Since getting this piecemeal from digikey would cost about $20, a nice gouge I’m sure, perhaps a 5 dollar donation would be appropriate to cover it.
Caveats:
-There is a 4x toggle switch and 1 push button instead of 4 push button switches, giving everyone 4 as suggest would’ve cleaned out what I found. What could four at a time be needed for anyways?
-don’t know the specs of the LEDS
-no slide potentiometers
-out of ~150 resistors maybe a rogue or two was mixed in, you’ll find out eventually.
Thanks for doing that. I ordered a few extra things when I got the LaunchPad, I got 10 of the buttons so I have extra to share but they are pretty generic - they and the slider pot can probably be picked up at Lee’s.
I was waiting to see what the schedule for the course will be - I thought they said Jan 21 but I see it’s 21:00 UTC. So we will know later today at least - after that we can figure out a regular meetup.
We used to have about 4 huge bags full of slider pots, I don’t know if they
made the move.
Ah thanks. In addition to that there are nearly as many parts still on the pallet as on the shelves so there probably are breadboard pin sized switches in abundance of whatever types you desire.
I know I’m late to the party, but I signed up for the course.
I gathered materials, and put a slide potentiometer in each bag. (Hopefully
it suits).
Thanks to Kyle for getting the ball rolling!
Sorry, I also signed up for the course and was hoping to get some
materials. I’m currently overwhelmed with work and life and haven’t even
had a chance to check out the new place (only made as far as the science
world storage space). Probably after next Tuesday I might have a bit of
time to drop by and sort things out, and toast to the new place and the
awesome people that made it happen.
How about next week anyone who wants to, we meet at VHS? I can do Wednesday
nights,
I missed the note about the grab bags or I would have taken one. I know we
used to have popsicle sticks around in the old space. We can look around.
Almost all of this is just a refresher for me so I can help others out.
I’ll be using an Arduino as the controller board so I can work with those
who need programming help.
Wednesday works for me (except for this coming Wednesday)…
Wed or Thur is OK for me …
I can’t make it on Wed or Thur. Monday or Tuesdays is what works for me.
Tue is also OK for me. Since we have a pretty big group having a couple of different nights might be better anyway. Also on Tue VHS3 will always be open …
Thanks for making the bags, I grabbed one. There are 5 remaining.
I can do any day for a meetup. Though it doesn’t sound like we have a consistent answer on which day works best.
I’m planning to come down Tue night, around 7:30. I’ve done most of the reading, so I think I’ll do the lab, if anyone else is there we can maybe look at it together and discuss the course.
If anybody is still looking for the Nokia 5110 display, I found this one
at Amazon.ca for $5.74+fs If you order now, it will be here in time for lab 14-15
Perfect, I was just looking for that. Good find.
