Cheap Transistor Tester

It looks like a great project worth turning into a group buy-build

Yep I have one of the ‘original’ ones; for the price, very handy. It’s the only quick way I have to measure inductance and ESR, and while I’m sure it’s not as accurate as an LCR meter, it can tell good from bad and get you in the ballpark. Also useful for identifying junk box transistors quickly.

So I did order one and it got to me within 2 weeks…
I upgraded the crystal to 16 Mhz (from the 8 it came with) and used some newer firmware…
And mounted it on a piece of 1/4" MDF
And added a knob and a little aluminum plate to short out capacitor leads before testing…
And a clip to hold the battery…
