I like doing jigsaw puzzles and I like 3D printing, so the Bits & Parts puzzle chair has been on my radar for a while. I do have the STLs for it from when they were available on their website.
Is there any interest in doing a VHS project where members print pieces and we try make the chair?
I have done some test pieces in PLA at .3mm height and between 12% and 20% infill.
The big PITA is that there are no flat surfaces on the pieces and they must be printed with the male pieces horizontal, so there is a lot of support material and therefore a lot of sanding/filing to get pieces to fit together.
If there is interest I’d suggest making up a multi-tabbed spreadsheet (STLs are labeled in a grid) where people and claim a piece to print. Also maybe do a few test pieces to see if it’s possible to have different printers do the parts - and make a slack channel where we can chat about this
